Adidas Release Statement on Greenwood Amid Man United Return Claims

Adidas, the renowned sportswear brand, has recently found itself entangled in a whirlwind of rumours and speculations surrounding the potential return of young star Mason Greenwood to the club.

The 21-year-old has been suspended by the club since he was arrested on suspicion of raping and assaulting a woman and later suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill in January 2022.

All charges were dropped against him by the Crown Prosecution Service in February of this year.

As the situation continues to grab headlines and spark discussions among football fans, Adidas has taken a firm stance, denouncing the claims as purely speculative and emphasizing the importance of accurate information.

The rumours regarding Mason Greenwood’s return to Manchester United emerged from various media outlets, citing undisclosed sources within the football industry.

Speculations suggested that Adidas was exerting pressure on the management to facilitate Greenwood’s comeback.

In an official statement released to the press, Adidas swiftly refuted the claims as entirely baseless and speculative. The company reaffirmed its commitment to ethical business practices and clarified that it does not interfere with club decisions or player transfers in any way.

An Adidas spokesperson said: “After inaccurate and speculative reporting within the media it’s important for us to clarify that Adidas has had no discussions with Manchester United regarding any member of their playing squad.
