Truth Social, widely known as Truth App is experiencing problems. Users all over the world have complained of the app being faulty and logging them out.
The newly launched social media platform, which is funded by Donald Trump, was developed shortly after his banishment from most major social media apps in January 2021. This was done in an effort to come up with something that would shake up the social media space.
Truth Social app aims at providing an alternative to Twitter and Facebook. An alternative that is termed as open, free and honest. However, its identical similarity to twitter is ironic. The “Feed” page is a timeline of posts from other users. Users can reply to posts, like/heart them and re-share posts with their followers. Posts on Truth Social are called “Truths” and re-shares are called “Retruths”. Borrowing from “Tweets and Retweets” Truth Social also borrows from Twitter with a nearly identical app design, direct messaging and the ability to follow/unfollow users.

It is now pretty apparent that, Truth Social still has a long way to go with competing with other social platforms. Despite it being a “social media platform that is free from political discrimination.” It is rather clear that it is geared heavily towards fans and supporters of the former president.
It is alleged that the Truth App servers crashed due to traffic overload. An overload that may have been caused by Elon Musk. Whether this was intentional or not, only Musk can tell. However, after Elon Musk’s tweet about setting view limits on Twitter, there’s been a massive migration of people to Trump’s camp.
