Are Celebrity Skincare Brands Overrated?

Celebrities are launching skincare lines and are always welcomed with comments like, ‘do we need another celebrity skincare line?’ Celebrities are said to choose some random product and stick their label on it and focus on the aesthetic and marketing instead of the product itself. The formulation of the their products tend to be similar with that of Sephora brand or drug store brand.

Celebrities crystal clear skin is not only achieved by skin care products but by also botox, fillers and lasers to mention but a few. Some celebrities white logo, that is their put their name on an already existing brand and hike up the price.

When taking photos for their marketing campaign, some use airbrush for their photos and some form of make-up and still suggest that their skin care product will give such results as seen on the photo. This is seen on Kim Kardashian’s skin care brand website, Skkn.

Although most celebrities have adapted sustainability into their products and that’s great. Also, most celebrities love to science wash their product without proving it by using words such as peaceful and radiant glow.

While the world waited for Rihanna to launch a new album, she instead launched Fenty Skin after her successful Fenty beauty in 2017. That is now available in African countries so you don’t have to break the bank to ship them in.

Celebrities have been associated with beauty since forever and are now tired of lending their faces to become brand ambassadors of other products and are making their own and they show no sign of slowing down anytime soon and are looking to expand.
