Tory Lanez is accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020 after a Hollywood Hills party. If the prosecutors have their way, Tory Lanez will serve 13 years in prison.
A memorandum was filed on Tuesday, June 6, by the prosecutors hoping the court will consider the rapper’s ‘campaign of misinformation’ against his victim in his eventual sentencing.

This is according to independent journalist Meghann Cuniff who has been following the case from the beginning.
The memo reads;
Words have power and the pen is oftentimes mightier than the sword. In this case, Daystar Peterson (Tory’s real name) used both. Not content to hurt the victim by use of his sword (gun), also used his pen. His online posts for nearly three years have re-traumatized the victim.”
The memo also says the Canadian rapper rallied his fans to harass the Houston rapper online and cast doubt on his involvement in the shooting. Tory’s album was also cited because of the several songs about the shooting.
On December 23, he was found guilty of all three charges. The charges included felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
On May 8, Lanez pleaded with the judge for a new retrial and to not ruin his life. Prosecutors also noted that Tory lacked remorse and is incapable of accepting any responsibility for his actions.
