Three habits that consume the mind

The body works on what we feed the mind by either hearing, watching, or self-infliction. The habits that we observe in people are a result of an action that they have faced in life. Some have healed, and some prefer to develop defense mechanisms.

Here are three habits that consume the mind:

Worrying and Overthinking
Worrying is a common habit that can consume a lot of mental energy. When we worry, we focus on negative thoughts, situations, and possibilities, which can lead to anxiety, stress, and depression.

Overthinking on the other hand, usually leads to mental exhaustion, because the more we continue to create the more possible occurrences, make us dwell in that zone. Denying us the life of the present time.

Negative self-talk.
Negative self-talk is a self-demining habit that can have a negative impact on our mental health. When we talk to ourselves negatively, we can start to believe that we are not good enough, which can lead to low self-esteem and a lack of confidence.

The more we feed ourselves with extreme thoughts of our insufficiency, in the same manner, the body and mind adapt.

Jealousy

Jealousy is a complex emotion that can be caused by a variety of factors, including Insecurity, fear of abandonment, low self-esteem, attachment issues, and past experiences.

Jealousy also manifests in different ways from resentment to anger, to controlling behaviors, and to withdrawing from relationships as a way of protecting one’s self.

Some of the ways to have yourself in check are by working on:

Boosting your self-esteem: This can be done by doing things that make you feel good about yourself, such as pursuing your hobbies, talking to friends with positive energy, and doing things that you are passionate about. Such activities give one a sense of being worthy and of value.

Know your triggers: The ability to know what causes one to react in a certain way is the key first step to having control. From knowing the trigger, one is able to sort out the root cause of such behaviors.

Do assertive practices like self-motivation and affirmation before leaving home or doing a task.
