Kitui Flour Mills Expands into Edible Cooking Oil Business

The maize and wheat flour company has decided to launch an edible cooking oil business following the increase in the demand for the product.

The manufacturer of Unga wa Dola Premium Maize flour has entered a very competitive market with other cooking oil brands such as Fresh Fry, Pwani Oil, and Golden Fry, among others. The edible cooking oil will be manufactured at the Vipingo plant in Kilifi County.

The company’s Finance Director, Anwar Bajber said, “We are pleased to launch Dola cooking oil which demonstrates our commitment to the Kenyan market as a company rooted in Kenya for over 50 years”.

Kenya anticipates their market revenue to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 13.37 percent whereas the volume is expected to grow at 4.75 percent for the period between 2023 and 2028. Conforming to market intelligence firm Research and Markets, retail will be aided by urbanization, population growth, and post-pandemic economic improvement.
