Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called upon Kenyans to welcome the opportunities being offered to evolve digital space for economic growth.
Speaking during the official opening of the 12th edition of Connect Summit Conference in Diani, Kwale County, Mudavadi said that it is time to utilize technology in a manner to catalyze growth, and sustainability and enhance equity.
“We need technological innovations that will be sustainable to catalyze growth in our economy, draw out equality and not enhance inequality within the society,” Mudavadi said.

Mudavadi stated that Kenya as a country will focus on becoming a regional technology hub that will not only connect the East and Central Africa frontier but connect Africa as a continent and pave way for global competitiveness in key digital key areas at large.

“Technology is the next frontier of government operations and businesses. This goes head to head with what every citizen in the know about to tech-solution-based approaches to various challenges facing us,” Prime Cabinet Secretary said.
“We should utilize skills and resources at our disposal to grow talent and create job opportunities based on technological advancements available.” Musalia Mudavadi noted.
In a statement, Mudavadi noted that the Kenya Kwanza regime is keen and focused on ensuring the landscape in the digital space remains an area where full potential must be tapped and also highlighting new opportunities in the digital market will go hand in hand with embracing innovations.

Mudavadi also said that the government is currently undertaking a comprehensive implementation program for the digital superhighway which will play a crucial role in enabling Kenya to revolutionize the provision of Heath, Agriculture, Housing, MSE, and financial services.
“The digitization and migration of state agencies to the e-citizen portal, and the hustler fund digital platform rollout has increased financial inclusivity of vulnerable groups and low income-earners. This is a move towards the right direction.” Mudavadi highlighted.
