Kenya and deals in the sale and hire of construction equipment.
According to
Managing Director Liddem International Harbin Zhao, the high taxation imposed
by the government block off investors.
“The government needs to release some policies
which will attract investors, this taxation is very much high,” said Zhao.
Infrastructure
serves as a pillar for economic and social development in the face of COVID-19
flare-ups and increasing downward pressure affected the economy, so many businesses
were slowed down.
“It is not fair,
yes there are other global economic shocks such as Covid-19, but high taxes
extended to companies such as ours, is making our existence here a toll order,”
commented Zhao.
During an
interview with Switch Media, Zhao said he is hopeful that the company will
supply the machinery to other county governments.
“We hope to supply to the county governments,
we have a market and Covid-19 has affected us a lot and has affected all the
companies in the industry but the most important thing is how you survive
during this time,” marked Zhao.
“The expo has opened a door for all the
dealers, companies doing business related to construction industry and it will
give every dealer and company in this industry a chance to come here to check
what is new in this markets and what kind of information they can get,” he
added.
The country’s infrastructure and construction
industry value are expected to double between 2019 and 2020. There has already
been a spike in the demand for building material and machinery.
