China Delivers the World’s Largest Container Ship

China has delivered the world’s largest container ship the MSC Tessa to its owner, Mediterranean Shipping Company SA in Shanghai.

With a capacity of 24,116-foot equivalent units, the MSC Tessa outstrips the ever allot, which carries 24,004 TEUs as the largest container ship.

At 399.99 m (1,312.3 ft.) long and 61.5 m (202 ft.) wide, the MSC Tessa can handle more than 240,000 tons of cargo. It’s the first ship to break that mark, as well as the first that’s able to carry more than 24,000 containers.

The ship will transport goods between Asia and Europe equipped with a number of high-tech equipment including the first used bubble drag reduction system and the shaft generator system, the ship can carry more cargo while reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

The sheep can reduce carbon emissions by three to four percent or around 6,000 tons a year.

The MSC Tessa series consists of four ships, the remaining three of which will be delivered in March, April, and June this year.
