- Failure is a part of the process
Young people get so beat when they fail at something. They think it is the end of the world, and nothing can come out of them anymore. Well, you should know that sometimes, for you to excel, you must fail. The key thing to do is pick yourself up and move on. There is no need to wallow in self-pity.
- Excuses will get you nowhere
The hard truth, but still a truth. As a person in your 20s, you will at times want an easy way out. So, it’s a trail of excuses one after the other. Let it be known that excuses will only get you so far. Learning accountability will come in handy as you progress to the future stages of your life.

- Friendship circles change, and that’s okay
Who doesn’t want friends, especially if you are in your 20s? These are your hype men and women, and they got your back when you hit a brick wall. Many times, you will try to ‘save’ the friendship, keep contact, in a bid to keep that fire burning. While that contributes to healthy friendships, keep in mind that some phases of your life will make you lose touch with some of those allies. If it happens, just know that you will be fine.
- Rome wasn’t built in a day
What is the rush to get all the money, cars, and women for? Hmm? In your 20s, you cannot in any way compete with a person who is in their 30s and is well-established. Understand that success is a process that takes time, preparation, and tons of work. Give yourself one day at a time.
- Some goals require sacrifice
Another truth that young people would rather not hear. To achieve some of your big, scary goals, big sacrifices have to be made. Whether it is cutting off some friends, cutting on spending, or eating habits; the sacrifice is there for the greater good. Going the extra mile will get you to where you want.
