Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground has seen the Cityzens trail league leaders Arsenal in the Premier League
Nottingham Forest scored against the run of play to salvage a point at the City Ground against Manchester City. Newcastle loanee striker Chris Wood scored his first goal in a Forest shirt after Bernardo Silva’s sizzling opener right before halftime.
Manchester City dominated play throughout the first half and had a deserved lead through Bernardo Silva who beat Keylor Navas in the Nottingham goal, into the roof of the net with a rocket from 20 yards.

In the previous fixture, Manchester City uncharacteristically played with a 37% possession against Arsenal but came out 3-1 winners, a result that took them top of the Premier League. However, on Saturday Manchester City gave a dominant display with 84% possession.
Phil Foden made a fantastic return from the sidelines with a foot injury as manager Pep Guardiola chose to start the midfielder. Bernardo Silva started in an unnatural position as a left-back and he flourished. According to BBC, Kevin De Bruyne had seven attempts on goal but none on target in a frustrating Saturday fixture against Nottingham Forest.
City failed to capitalize on their win against Arsenal in midweek and will rue plenty of missed chances. Ilkay Gundogan’s freekick hit the woodwork before Haaland missed a sitter; smashing the ball off the post from 6 yards.
Due to the injuries sustained by Scott McKenna and Willy Boly at center-back in the previous game, Steve Cooper’s team failed to produce any significant periods of possession or chances on goal. However, City’s frustration at the lack of conversion in goal, saw Forest hang on to take their opportunity when it came. 1-1 at full-time.
