Arsenal’s loss to Everton on Saturday blew the Premier League race wide open. A Man City win would see them close the gap to two points by beating Antonio Conte’s side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Kane struck the ball home for his side after City unsuccessfully tried to play out the back and Rhodri’s unsure pass was intercepted by Hojberg.

The Danish midfielder toe-poked the ball straight into Kane’s path for him to finish the over with a well-finessed sidefoot to slot the ball into the back of the net.

Manchester City put in a poor first-half performance as Tottenham tried to make the most of the breaks.

City Manager Pep Guardiola must have had one of his signature ‘Pep’ talks over halftime as what would be an energised side stepped out and pressed harder for the equalizer.

Guardiola brought on Kevin De Bruyne for Mahrez, allowing Bernardo Silva to play off the wing hoping the Belgian would whip up some of his magic.

Penalty appeals on both sides were waived off in the second half as a determined Man City emphatically searched for an equaliser that all the more looked elusive as the clock ticked away.

Romero got sent off for a foul on Grealish in the 87th minute earning him his second yellow card of the fixture. Antonio Conte’s 1-0 win over Guardiola moves them one point closer to the top four and in good shape to press as the season builds up to its climax.

Tottenham legend Harry Kane scored his 267th goal for Spurs, making him the club’s leading all-time goalscorer. Kane now has one more goal, for Tottenham, than the Legendary Jimmy Greaves.
