Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has advised his successor President William Ruto to stop the empty talks and channel his focus on delivering services to Kenyans
Speaking while he was with the family of the late CS for education George Magoha, retired President Uhuru refused to be put in the brewing hot pot of tax evasion allegations by the Kenya Kwanza leaders. He instead retaliated against the current government, saying that leaders who have nothing to deliver will always have a lot to say.
“There are two types of people. Some people talk a lot about what they will do and do nothing and those are many. But there are people who will talk a little and their deeds are seen,” said Kenyatta.

Uhuru continued to say that there are leaders who seek leadership positions just for the sake of it and thus, do not know what to do with those positions. He further condemned the current government for downplaying the new Competence-based Curriculum, (CBC) saying it had been thoroughly thought through.
The retired president was responding to the concerns raised by the Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka about how the new government was double-crossing the former head-of-state; something no other predecessor has ever done before.

“We must respect our leaders at that level. I have witnessed seamless transitions before, but what is this we are hearing around town in terms of the pettiness in the country?” asked Kalonzo.
Remembering the late Prof Magoha, retired President Kenyatta termed him as a leader worth being emulated. He said the former University of Nairobi vice-chancellor was a man who was not interested in positions but rather in what he could do with such positions.
“There are people who seek positions for the sake of it. But there are those in a position and are interested in what they can do with that position for the greater good,” he said.

Uhuru, while visiting the home of the late CS in Lavington was accompanied by several dignitaries, including some members of his cabinet including former Interior Security CS Fred Matiang’I, Peter Munya, Ukur Yatani, Eugene Wamalwa as well as some principal secretaries.
