The murder case against Migori Governor Okoth Obado, his assistant Michael Oyamo, and former Migori County clerk Pascal Obiero proceeded on Thursday, July 14, with two clinical officers telling the court they forged medical documents for Obado’s personal assistant Oyamo.
Cliff Momanyi, a clinical officer, informed Milimani Law court that he received an amount worth Ksh1,500 to falsify a medical document, revealing that Oyamo had been attacked by anonymous people on the night Rongo University student Sharon Otieno was killed.
“All the medical documents were forgeries… I am the one who did the forgeries and received KSh 1,500… I regret my actions,” Momanyi told the court.

Obado, his Assistant, and Casper Obiero are charged with the murder of Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby, which took place on September 3, 2018.
Another witness, Justus Magati Moindi, told the court that he was approached by Caspal and Oyamo a day after Sharon was murdered, to help in forging a medical report indicating that Oyamo needed special treatment at a hospital in Kisumu, where his medical insurance would cater for the bill.
Moindi claims he was told that Oyamo was attacked by unknown people while in possession of a lot of money belonging to his boss the Governor, which was stolen.
“When the two came, Caspal told me that they had a problem and they wanted to see me privately. I asked whether it was related to medical treatment and they said yes. I asked them to go and buy a card at the reception but they told me before they could buy, they wanted to talk to me,” Moindi told the court.
The report was reportedly prepared by Cliff Momanyi who was Moindi’s classmate at the University and who works at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.
“He asked for details of Oyamo so I handed over the phone to Oyamo who explained to him (Momanyi) his details,” he told the court.
However, the hearing against Sharon Otieno and her infant murder case continues until the day it will shade light.
