Azimio La Umoja Presidential Candidate, Raila Odinga, has said that his political boot camp is leading by 65 percent against their opponents, amid 31 days to the general election.
Raila, with his Azimio brigade, trailed their campaign in Wangu’ru Stadium, in Kirinyaga County yesterday, stating their target is to tilt the winning margin higher than 65 percent to defeat Kenya Kwanza.

“As Azimio La Umoja alliance we are confident enough that we shall emerge as victors of August 9 election…, as we speak now, we are at 65 percent and we believe to win the election with more than 70 percent,” Raila said.
He also denied his statement that he plans to boycott the upcoming election following the recent accusation that the Kenya Kwanza team is outsourcing ballot papers from Greece, intending to rig the election.
“I told the IEBC that we shall not boycott for elections only if they will assure us a fair, transparent, and credible election. I didn’t say that we shall side-line ourselves from the race,” he added.
Recently, Raila has been deploying his complaints to IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati insisting for both manual and electronic registers be applied during the election to avoid maligning the election results considering the allegation that Kenya Kwanza is drumming up to have two million extra votes aside from the legitimate total votes.

During the July 6, 2022 Githunguri, Kiambu County Azimio rally, the Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed revealed that there is an individual who was sent to Greece to add extra ballot papers. Junet states that the votes will then be sneaked into the country and distributed across polling stations.
“They have selected 10,000 stations, where they will sneak in 200 marked ballots in each station so that they will have two million extra votes aside from the legitimate total votes,” Junet said.
Ford Kenya party leader, who was mentioned by Junet as a trojan horse connected with Inform Lykos firm, rubbished claims that he was the mastermind of the plot to rig the elections.
On the other hand, Wetangula denied allegedly writing any letter to the printing firm stating that any document produced was forged. He further denied convening any meeting with any officials or IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati.
“If any letters were written on letterheads indicating they are from the Bungoma Senator’s office; they must be forgeries. I have never written such letters. I do not, and I repeat, I do not know the three foreigners being referred to,” he stated.
The Azimio leader stated that the handwritten register in every voting place was a minimum for his camp while speaking to a crowd in Githunguri.
“With a manual register, it will be easy to tell how many people have voted in every polling station. In the electronic register, no record remains.
“That is why we are saying that there must be a manual register at every polling station, it is not negotiable. We are telling the IEBC they must have a manual register along with the biometric identification of voters on that day; failure to which, there will be no election,” the former Prime Minister stated.
