Nairobi; The United Democratic Alliance-UDA Party has given out a directive statement concerning the plan to remove the two-term presidency term limit.
On Tuesday, November 8,2022 , UDA in a statement distanced itself from the claims made by Fafi MP Salah Yakub over the presidential term limit.
Giving clarified significance, UDA maintains that it was keen to help President William Ruto to deliver his developmental agenda during his campaigns at a notch higher.
“Notably, the remarks made by Fafi Member of Parliament Salah Yakub that there are plans to extend term limits for the President are a product of a fertile imagination by the legislator’’, UDA party distances itself from the matter made by the MP.
“Most effective, the Party has not been part of the discussions in regard to term limits. On the other hand, the Party is busy implementing the Plan and not being part of sideshows,” UDA said in a statement.
Furthermore, Yakub had an option indicating that the United Democratic Alliance was planning to table a constitutional amendment Bill to replace the two-term limit with an age limit of 75 years.

Additionally, the amendments will allow President William Ruto to rule for 20 years since he is fifty-five (55) years old.
The report published by Nation Africa indicated that the plan to change the presidential term limit was hatched at a private closed-door meeting.
