Users will be able to go live on the app thanks to a new TikTok feature called TikTok Now. Both the new TikTok Now app and TikTok can be used to access TikTok Now in Africa.
TikTok users will be able to use the front and back cameras on their devices to record what they are doing at any given time. They will get a daily reminder to take a 10-second video or still snapshot so they can quickly and swiftly share what they are up to.
“TikTok Now is the newest way to be entertained and connect with others on TikTok – a daily photo and video experience to share your most authentic moments with the people who matter the most. TikTok Now brings the authenticity of TikTok to a whole new creative experience that connects you with those closest to you,” TikTok said on their official website.
“Making possible deeper connections and fun entertainment in an easy-to-use format, TikTok Now invites you and your friends to capture what you’re doing at the moment using your device’s front and back camera. You’ll receive a daily prompt to capture a 10-second video or a static photo to quickly and easily share what you’re up to.”
TikTok claims that TikTok Now was created with the community’s security and privacy in mind. Who can view or interact with a creator’s content is entirely up to the creator. They can determine who gets blocked and which comments are displayed on their post. And anyone can report behaviour that they think might be against the Community Guidelines if they notice it.
TikTok Now users under the age of 16 will also be able to sign up, although their accounts will be private by default. To prevent unwanted encounters, comments for users between the ages of 13 and 15 will only be available to friends only.
