Switch TV’s presenter Nana Owiti and her family are sadly mourning the death of their great grandma, who had lived for over 100 years.
The mother of two announced the tragic news on Instagram, where she and her husband, King Kaka, pinned heartfelt tributes to her as they laid her to rest three days ago.
“Our Matriarch left us. Her name is Wavinya and she lived to the name. The strongest woman I know. Until her demise, she was the oldest person in the community for the longest. Over 100+ years. She’s literally my mom’s grandma…my Great Grandma and my kid’s great great grandma,
“God has blessed her to see 3 of her generations and we got to see 4 generations take shape. I was born in her hut, many moons ago on a beautiful Sunday morning. I will forever be grateful. As we lay her to rest today, it is in deed a sad day but we are beyond blessed to have seen so many years of her matriarchy,” narrated Nana.
