A new hit song honoring Raila Odinga has been released by Kenyan artist Khaligraph Jones.
The song Usiache Akemewe (Don’t let him be mocked) was written to encourage William Ruto, the president-elect, to stand up against Mr. Odinga’s mockery.
In the song’s lyrics, Khaligraph first expresses his congratulations to Ruto for winning the election, noting that he had been patient and that God guide him while he governs the country.
Khaligraph also noted that there was a lot of sadness in the homes and streets.
“But there’s an issue that only you can address, reconciliation that’s what we need to start a fresh. You are a man of God so you know how to deal with this the best.”
Khalighraph expresses his disappointment at the abuse of Mr. Odinga.
“Mr. hustler, a man of integrity bring the people together cause chuki saa hii si necessity. Baba is being attacked, some people calling him names but you can change this narrative cause you’ve been through the same.”
In his lyrics, Khaligraph urged Ruto to think back to the times when people had doubted his ability to serve as president, “but see God you are now the Head of State”.

The award-winning rapper continued by saying that his prayer was for Ruto to make sure Baba was okay because Ruto is aware of what Odinga is going through.
The Champez hitmaker described the anguish of Baba supporters by saying,
“My mom has been grieving, I called her she didn’t pick and then she texted me and told me, son I’m sick. I told her why mama, ain’t no reason to be sad Baba is fine and that’s another reason to be glad.”
Khaligraph stated that Kenyan politics is still tribal in nature.
“Protect our old man don’t let him be ridiculed, for we love him the same way we love you.”
Due to the political division among Kenyans, Ruto acknowledged that he reached out to Mr. Odinga, and the two spoke on how to move forward.
