FIFA President Gianni Infantino has sent a congratulatory message to Gor Mahia FC following the club’s triumph in the 2025/26 FKF Premier League season.
The message was addressed to FKF President Hussein Mohammedmahead of Gor Mahia’s official coronation ceremony scheduled for Sunday at Nyayo Stadium.
In his letter, Infantino praised the club’s consistency and determination throughout the campaign as they secured yet another domestic crown.
“By means of this letter, I am pleased to congratulate the recently crowned champions of Kenya, Gor Mahia FC!” Infantino wrote.
“Their constant efforts and results throughout the season have paid off, resulting in this important title. Congratulations to each and every member of the team and of the club for this great achievement.”
The FIFA boss also thanked the Football Kenya Federation for its continued efforts in developing football in the country.
“While thanking you and your Federation for your continuous support, work, and dedication for the development of football in your country, I look forward, dear President, to seeing you again soon,” he added.
Gor Mahia Extend Record With 22nd League Crown
Gor Mahia FC clinched a record-extending 22nd league title after fierce rivals AFC Leopards suffered a 2-1 defeat to APS Bomet, a result that mathematically ended Ingwe’s hopes of catching K’Ogalo in the title race.
The championship further cements Gor Mahia’s dominance in Kenyan football history, with the club once again proving its consistency at the top level of the domestic game.
The Green Army will now shift focus to Sunday’s clash against Nairobi United at Nyayo Stadium, where they are expected to officially lift the FKF Premier League trophy in front of thousands of fans.
Sunday’s fixture is expected to attract a huge turnout as Gor Mahia supporters gather to celebrate another successful campaign.
The coronation ceremony at Nyayo National Stadium will mark the culmination of a dominant season for K’Ogalo, who managed to fend off competition from AFC Leopards and other title challengers to retain their place at the summit of Kenyan football.
With congratulations now coming from the highest office in world football, Gor Mahia’s latest title win has received global recognition, underlining the club’s enduring legacy in African football.
