Cristiano Ronaldo has once again voiced his disappointment over the current state of Manchester United, arguing that the club remains without a clear structure or long-term vision. In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, the Al-Nassr forward expressed sadness over United’s stagnation, saying that despite its legacy, the team continues to struggle under new leadership.
Ronaldo said the club has failed to build a solid foundation for future success, something that was once the hallmark of Manchester United during the era of Sir Alex Ferguson. He added that while manager Ruben Amorim is working hard to turn things around, he cannot be expected to perform miracles given the current state of the team.
The Portuguese forward believes United’s problems go beyond the pitch, pointing to issues in management and leadership. He emphasized that true change must start from the top if the club hopes to return to its former glory.
Ronaldo, who enjoyed massive success during his two spells at Old Trafford, said he remains emotionally connected to the club but feels the team’s standards have dropped over the years. His remarks echo similar criticism he made in 2022 before leaving United, when he claimed the club had failed to modernize compared to other European giants.
Despite recent improvements under Amorim and the investment from INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United still trails behind Premier League leaders by a wide margin. The team has earned 10 points from its last four league games, but Ronaldo remains unconvinced that the Red Devils can mount a serious title challenge this season.
As United continues its rebuilding phase, Amorim faces mounting pressure to deliver consistent results and restore the team’s identity. Meanwhile, Ronaldo remains focused on his career in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr, though his comments have reignited debate about Manchester United’s ongoing challenges both on and off the field.
