NAIROBI -A quiet comment from comedian Terence Creative has stirred fresh waves in Kenya’s online creator world, as tensions with outspoken YouTuber Andrew Kibe show no sign of cooling.
In what many see as a show of support, Terence replied simply, “I believe @director_trevor,” during a heated Instagram discussion on Monday. The remark, brief as it was, sparked immediate reactions across social media -pulling Terence into an ongoing digital tug-of-war involving Director Trevor and the ever-controversial Kibe.
Though Terence made no mention of Kibe by name, the timing and context of his words left little doubt among fans.
“He didn’t have to say much,” said one follower in the comments. “That one line was enough.”
Others were less forgiving. “You sound bitter, why?” one critic shot back. Another added, “Who asked you?”
Still, the comment earned support from parts of the creator community, with users joking that Terence was now “Secretary General wa kutetea ma content creators.”
The feud, though subtle in tone, taps into deeper cracks in Kenya’s creative industry. Andrew Kibe – once a radio presenter and now an online brand – is known for his often scathing commentary on fellow influencers, whom he regularly accuses of being inauthentic, fame-hungry, or “lost in soft life.”

Director Trevor who also Bradley manager (Genz Goliath), was recently at the centre of attention after claiming Kibe had once reached out privately for help. “He was in my DMs asking for a favour,” Trevor alleged, in what was seen as a blow to Kibe’s credibility.
Now, with Terence stepping in – however lightly – the lines appear more clearly drawn.
Influencer 2mbili also entered the fray, taking a dig at Terence. “PEENI TERENCE ATTENTION ANAFINYA SANA 😂😂,” he wrote on the same IG post, implying that the comedian might be seeking the spotlight.
Terence didn’t stay silent. In a comeback tinged with humour and heat, he wrote: “At least mi niko na wife wakuskiza,” a remark many saw as aimed squarely at Kibe, who often critiques marriage and openly lives a bachelor lifestyle.
To critics, it may seem like attention-seeking. But for others, it reflects a growing pushback from Kenyan creators who have grown tired of Kibe’s approach.
A Public Divide
Kibe has built his online brand on harsh truths and blunt opinions – a style that has won him both devoted fans and vocal enemies. His supporters argue that he tells it like it is. His critics say he crosses the line, too often turning personal.
As it stands, no direct response has come from Kibe regarding Terence’s remark. But in Kenya’s ever-active online scene, silence rarely lasts long.
And while no one is calling it an all-out war, the digital landscape feels increasingly divided – between creators who stay quiet and those who, like Trevor and now Terence, choose to speak up.
