The Wiper Patriotic Front has opened its nomination race for the 2027 General Election, giving prospective candidates until October 3 to register for the party ticket.
The party is inviting politicians seeking elective positions as well as those hoping to secure seats through its party-list nominations.
In a notice, Wiper said candidates interested in contesting the August 10, 2027 election on its ticket must complete their registration by October 3, 2026.
“As the 2027 elections approach, the Wiper Patriotic Front invites persons interested to vie for various positions in the 10th August 2027 General Election on a WPF ticket to register as WPF aspirants on or before 3rd October, 2026,” the party said.
The registration is being conducted online through the party’s official website. Prospective candidates have also been asked to confirm their membership before applying.
Existing members can check their status by dialling *509# and following the instructions. Those who are not members must first register with the party.
The move comes as political parties begin preparations for the 2027 elections, with prospective candidates positioning themselves ahead of the nomination contests that will determine who receives party tickets.
Fees vary by position
Wiper has set different registration fees depending on the position being sought.
A gubernatorial aspirant will pay Sh50,000, while women, youth and persons with disabilities will pay Sh25,000.
Senate and National Assembly aspirants will each pay Sh20,000. The fee for women, youth and persons with disabilities is Sh10,000.
Those seeking the County Woman Representative seat will also pay Sh20,000, with a reduced fee of Sh10,000 for women, youth and persons with disabilities.
For the Member of County Assembly position, the standard fee is Sh10,000, while the reduced rate is Sh5,000.
The party has urged all prospective candidates to complete the process before the October 3 deadline.
The registration marks an early step in Wiper’s preparations for the 2027 election. The next stage will be the party’s nomination process, where aspirants will compete for the tickets in their respective constituencies and wards.
