Paris Saint-Germain outclassed Inter Miami in a lopsided 4-0 victory to secure a place in the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The match, held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, saw the French champions dominate from kickoff, leaving Lionel Messi’s side stunned and scoreless.

Joao Neves led PSG with two first-half goals, while Achraf Hakimi added a fourth after a defensive blunder resulted in an own goal by Inter Miami’s Tomas Aviles. PSG’s relentless pressure and fluid attack left Miami without a single shot for the first 50 minutes of play.

Neves struck first in the 11th minute, rising above defenders to head in a free kick. His second came shortly after, capping off a fast-passing move with a calm finish inside the box. In the 35th minute, Miami’s defense collapsed when Aviles deflected a cross into his own net. Hakimi added the final blow in the 41st minute, hammering home a rebound after a blocked attempt.

Messi, playing against his former club for the first time since leaving PSG in 2023, struggled to make an impact. His best opportunity came in the 82nd minute, a curling shot that forced a diving save from Gianluigi Donnarumma.
“It is the first time I have scored two goals in one game, so I am very happy,” Neves said after the match. “But I am happier for the win.”
Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano acknowledged the gulf in class. “We knew today was going to be very, very difficult,” he said. “They are probably the best team in the world.”
PSG now advances to the quarterfinals, where they will meet the winner between Bayern Munich and Flamengo. The win marks a strong start for PSG’s Club World Cup campaign, as they aim to capture the global title for the first time.
