DP Rigathi Gachagua has been taken ill during his impeachment hearing in the senate, his lead counsel Paul Muite says.
The DP who was present during the morning hearing of his case failed to turn up for the afternoon session and his counsel advised the house that he had been hospitalized.
The Deputy was fated to take the stand and give his testimony on the cases leveled against him.
Muite asked the house to give the defendant time until 5 pm to resume the hearing. However, the opposing counsel has said that the hearing is time time-sensitive.
Speaker Kingi has suspended the hearing until 5 PM to allow the DP’s lead counsel to get hold of the DP and allow resumption of the hearing.
