Switch Media School is now officially accredited by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA). This recognition reflects the school’s commitment to providing high-quality, industry-specific training programs relevant to today’s digital landscape.
The accreditation is in line with The TVETA Strategic Plan 2023-2027, which aims to advance middle-level training in Kenya and develop a skilled workforce for sustainable development.
This accreditation positions Switch Media School as a top-tier media institution for future media professionals, ensuring they receive a relevant and reputable education.
In addition to its recent accreditation, Switch Media School is actively pursuing strategic collaborations aimed at enhancing its educational offerings. Discussions are underway with Budapest Metropolitan University (METU), Hungary’s largest private university, known for its diverse programs in communication, business, tourism, visual arts, and creative industries.
This potential partnership aims to create synergies that will benefit students from both institutions, enhancing the educational experience through knowledge and resource exchange.
Furthermore, the digital media institute recently partnered with Boma International Hospitality College (BIHC) and the Kenya Commercial Bank Foundation. This partnership is aimed at empowering youth, more so women, in Kenya’s hospitality and digital media sectors.
Through these strategic partnerships, Switch Media School aims to provide adaptive skills training to media practitioners, ensuring they are well-equipped to tackle the challenges of today’s information age. By focusing on inclusivity and empowerment, the institution is contributing to the development of a skilled workforce that can drive innovation and growth in the digital media landscape.
In 2023, the school launched its diploma program, designed to equip students with essential skills for the digital media field. The curriculum covers digital marketing, content creation, media production, and emerging technologies, emphasizing practical, hands-on experiences for real-world application.
By obtaining TVETA accreditation, the school demonstrates its commitment to high educational standards and its ability to provide students with the necessary skills. Switch Media is on the verge of securing accreditation from the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM), with the final phase of the process underway.
