President Ruto yesterday met American TV host, actor and comedian Steve Harvey. During their encounter, Steve Harvey revealed that he had intended to meet the Kenyan president for a while now.
“Let me show you something. You are on my vision board. You’ve been on my vision board for four years,” Steve said to the visibly elated President as he showed him his phone.
The two met at the Tyler Perry Studios, where Steve stood in for Tyler Perry who couldn’t make it. The president was accompanied by his wife, his daughters, comedian Eddie Butita, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and Cabinet Secretary for Defense Aden Duale among other distinguished Kenyans. A host of other dignitaries were present as well.
On display that day at the studios was a grand screen that had a welcome message to the President: “Karibu President Ruto”
Steve Harvey promised to visit Kenya, after indicating that he is already in business with Botswana. Moreover, he recognized the African continent, saying that if there was no Africa there would be no African Americans.
For a long time, Steve has emphasized the importance of vision boards in achieving dreams.
“If you do not have it written down, your chances of it happening are reduced drastically because it’s a principle of success. You have to have everything you want written,” he insists.
At the luncheon, the President apologised to his daughter for not letting her study film at the university. Also in attendance at the luncheon was Meg Whitman, the current ambassador for the United States to Kenya.
The President gifted Steve Harvey a small carving of the big five and a sculpture of the Kenyan shield. He did this by inviting him to Kenya, an invitation that Steve accepted and promised to honour.
