Kenya’s Media Queen Betty Kyallo Back on TV

After a four-year hiatus, Betty Kyallo is back on television. The media personality took to her socials on Friday, May 3, to announce her debut on TV 47’s This Friday with Betty. The news came as a surprise to many Kenyans. She had kept us in the dark until the deal was done.

The media personality had previously intimated that it would take a big check to bring her back to the screen, speaking in the series Kyallo Kulture in which she starred, along with her sisters. One wonders if TV47 cut her the big check she was talking about to bring her back.

“After close to 4 years, I’m back. TV47 is now my home. I can’t wait to see you my lovely audience. This is my favourite stage! I missed it. Yaay! See you soon. The show is “This Friday with Betty”. Big surprises coming. Grateful to God…”, the post read. Fans took to her comment section to welcome her. The comment section of that post was star-studded. H_art the band, Eddie Butita, Shiksha Arora, Jacky Vike and many other celebrities joined her fans in pouring out congratulatory messages.

Several people mentioned that they had stopped watching the news up until the return of Betty Kyallo. One has to admit though, that Betty possesses the ability to keep the audience glued to the screen.

Betty’s show will be airing for approximately one hour and thirty minutes on Fridays on TV 47 starting from 9 pm. The show has several segments. She reads the news, checks social media trends, interviews a guest, has another guest read one news item and then she goes through trends again. This is on repeat every Friday, only with different guests.

On the May 10, Betty hosted Mumias MP Peter Salasya. She also brought back Willis The Wordmaster who went on to decode the pronunciation of words such as genre. Kenyans had missed Betty Kyallo, evident in the fact that by the end of the night, her show was trending on Twitter at number 1. Betty remains a sweetheart in the eyes of Kenyans.
