Accompanied by the caption ‘Veni, Vidi, Vici,’ a Latin phrase translating to ‘I came, I saw, I conquered,’ Kuria left no doubt about his pride in his achievements.

During his tenure, spanning 11 months and 6 days, Kuria spearheaded several initiatives that he believes have left a lasting impact on Kenya’s trade and economic landscape.

Among his notable accomplishments, he implemented the exports and promotion levy, a move aimed at discouraging unnecessary imports. Kuria also successfully negotiated a substantial investment of Ksh 450 billion from Afriexim Bank, earmarked for E-Mobility, Special Economic Zones, and Export Processing Zones.

One of the highlights of his tenure was the finalization of an economic partnership agreement with the European Union, a significant achievement for Kenya’s international trade relations.

Furthermore, Kuria proudly announced the launch of industrial parks in 13 counties, some of which were perceived as strongholds of the opposition Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition. Additional industrial parks were also established in three Kenya Kwanza counties.

Addressing critics who labeled his redeployment to the Public Service docket as a demotion, Kuria stood firm during the launch of the Garissa Industrial Park.

In an unapologetic manner, he launched a passionate defense of his new role and hit back at those he deemed as “enemies” celebrating the move.

“I want to make it clear that this redeployment is not a demotion. It is a new opportunity for me to serve my country differently, and I am ready to do just that,” Kuria declared, his words resonating with conviction.

He went on to mock his detractors, suggesting that his outstanding performance in his new position might lead them to petition for his return to the Trade Ministry, saying, “Those celebrating today will soon be baffled by my performance in the Public Service docket. They might even request my redeployment again.”
