The assistALL Mini App aims to empower individuals in Kenya who are deaf or hard of hearing, by providing them with equal opportunities, that were previously limited by communication barriers.

By offering accessible, reliable, and on-demand sign language interpretation services, the app seeks to bridge the communication gap, between the hearing community and individuals with hearing impairment.

This collaboration between Safaricom and Signs Media, is designed to enhance the accessibility of the M-PESA app for the deaf community.

“At Safaricom, we believe in the power of technology to break down barriers and drive inclusion and accessibility. In addition, the partnership will help sign language interpreters by giving them chances to offer their services through the app. This will create jobs and economic empowerment for them.

The app will provide sign language interpretation services for businesses, professionals, and individuals at a reasonable price.

“We launched the assistALL app in 2022, with a vision of helping the deaf community participate in social-economic development in Kenya and beyond, and we are pleased to avail it to more Kenyans, by partnering with Safaricom to have it on the M-PESA App,” said Luke Muleka, Founder and Managing Director of Signs Media Kenya Limited.

Further, the app will help businesses, professionals, and individuals in different sectors like healthcare, government services, finance, and transportation to communicate effectively with the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities. This will promote inclusion and accessibility for all.
