The recent arrest of alleged drug peddler ‘mathe wa ngara’ has seen Kenyans share the most hilarious memes on social media.
When the Directorate for Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced the arrest of the suspect in what they described as an anti-narcotics operation, Kenyans immediately came up with creative memes even likening the 54-year-old Teresia Wanjiru to Teresa Mendoza in the series, the Queen of the South.

Teresia Wanjiru is said to have been caught with 26 bags of cannabis, 4 cartons of rolling materials, 173 packaged sweets, and a carton of suspected weed cookies, according to the DCI. She is said to have been caught with Ksh13.4 Million in cash during the arrest.

She has been recognized as the biggest alleged drug peddler to be arrested in Kenya and many Kenyans have humorously associated what she does with what Pablo Escobar did in Colombia.

Other Kenyans have alluded to the fact that Teresia, famously known as mathe wa Ngara, may share more than just a name with Teresa Mendoza from the movie, The Queen of the South.
