Food to Avoid for Business Meals

Business etiquette is not common to many. Getting late for a meeting, using informal language during an e-mail, dating a co-worker, and of course eating the wrong meals during a business lunch or dinner.

Business lunches or dinners are a way of making the seemingly heavy business about to be discussed lighter and making string a deal easier with a much less tense. What you order during such meetings is important during the meetings.

Here is a list of what NOT to order during a meeting;

Do not order messy food.

Food like a lobster that needs special kinds of cutlery and can even jump off the plate. If you are not aware of how to get the shell off then you are in for an embarrassing lunch or dinner.

Do not order food that will need you to take large-size food bites.

Foods like sushi and burger need you to open your mouth big and wide to take a bite. Instead during business lunch or dinner order something that you’ll have to take small bites. Nobody wants to see your cavities.

Avoid food that would stick on your teeth.

Food like kale and spinach, basically the greens. This makes it awkward for everyone else around you. Also awkward for you once you excuse yourself to the washroom and you notice you have had something on your teeth during the business meeting.

Avoid food that will splutter on your outfit.

This is the food like spaghetti, noodles, and melty ice cream. You do not want to give off sloppy fingers and ruin your outfit.

Do not order food that will give you a runny nose or cause you to sneeze.

These are mostly spicy foods. Nigerians have no problem with this, pepe is in most if not all of their foods.

Avoid food with bones.
