Mwopiano hit maker, DJ Fatxo whose real name is Lawrence Njuguna Wagura is speaking up after the controversy that rose from his cancelled interview at Ghetto radio. DJ Fatxo shared a statement that countered Ghetto radio’s statement.
The mugithi musician explained in his statement that the reason Ghetto radio gave for his interview being cancelled was false. In his words, he termed the statement by Ghetto radio as unwarranted, ill-thought, distasteful, misleading and unfortunate.
DJ Fatxo was scheduled to have an interview at Ghetto radio on Friday last week, during their morning show between 7.00am – 8.00am, hosted by MajiMaji and DJ Katta. The show was however cancelled last minute with Ghetto radio releasing a statement explaining why.
“Ghetto Radio cancelled an interview with Lawrence Njuguna aka DJ Fatxo. This was due to online uproar from our fans, who felt it was bad taste. As an organization we value our customers and as our listeners, you come first.”

DJ Fatxo set the record straight by giving his side of what happened that led to the cancellation of the interview. In his statement he claims that Ghetto Radio shared media promoting his interview including an hour before the interview and that it had gotten positive feedback.
In the statement, DJ Fatxo adds the real reason he could not make it on time to the interview was due to unavoidable traffic delays. He stressed that it was the media’s duty to ensure they pass accurate information.
“The reality is that the cancellation was result of unavoidable traffic delays that caused DJ Fatxo to be late for the scheduled interview.”
DJ Fatxo’s letter concluded with the areas his performed like Gilgil, Naivasha and Karatina and having interviews at Citizen and Inooro. Well, if Ghetto Radio does reschedule for an interview with DJ Fatxo, he will probably be an hour early.
