Wilo East Africa Group, a renowned German company specialising in the supply of pumps and pump systems for building services, water management, and the industrial sector, celebrated its grand relaunch at their headquarters along Mombasa Road in Nairobi on July 27, 2023.
Under the guidance of Belete Matebe, the Managing Director, the relaunch event showcased the state-of-the-art assembly plants and an impressive array of pumps that have been established.
During his address, the Managing Director emphasized the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. He stated that to drive meaningful change in the country, it was imperative not to rely on the same old solutions. As a result, the facility has successfully localized several solutions in alignment with the International Organization for Standardization’s standards.

Belete Matebe also highlighted the company’s dedication to empowering the youth in the region. To achieve this, the facility will provide employment opportunities and conduct certified training programs, seminars, and workshops for industry professionals and students in collaboration with Wilo Academy.
One notable advancement showcased at the assembly plant is the local assembly of various products, including booster sets, end suction pumps, firefighting pumps, control panels, and borehole pumps. This move is expected to facilitate exports to neighbouring countries directly from Nairobi.
Furthermore, this progress allows Wilo East Africa to tailor-make solutions in Water and Sanitation (WASH), such as water kiosks, mini cubes, aqua cubes, and the Portable Aqua Unit for Lifesaving (PAUL) backpack. These solutions will be beneficial for communities lacking access to clean drinking water.
