“We talked to Kenyans and we categorized Kenyans whether they are pro-government or pro-opposition. We asked them whether the country is headed in the wrong direction or the right direction, ” says Margaret.

” Between March 2023 and June 2023, the sentiments have definitely changed. So the percentage of those who feel that the country is headed in the right direction has declined from 37% to 25%. Those who feel that the country is headed in the wrong direction, on March 2023 was 48% and currently it is 56%,” she adds.

The main reason why people said that the country is heading into the wrong direction, that is, according to the findings is the increase in economic hardships.

Other reasons listed included failed campaign promises, leadership of the Kenya Kwanza government, ethnic tensions and anti – corruption.

However, despite of the failures being mentioned, there were a few achievements. One achievement is introduction of Hustler Fund and reduction in the cost of fertilizer and other agricultural support.
