Nakuru Referral Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr James Waweru confirmed that four people sustained gunshot wounds in the anti-government demos. Two were shot in the abdomen, one in the chest and another in the leg.
Five people are nursing injuries at the referral hospital from the anti-government demonstrations. Four out of five are nursing gunshot wounds. Dr Waweru added that the fifth person had suffered cuts.
There is a heavy police presence in Nakuru, with police officers using force and canisters of teargas to disperse protesters. Reinforcements in the area were deployed after protesters set fire to the Stima Line area.
Running battles between the anti-riot police and rowdy protesters continue throughout the country. With the police lobbying canisters of teargas while using any means necessary to quell the protests. In addition, the protesters have blocked major roads in various parts of the country.

Other occurrences in the Wednesday demos
Meanwhile, two people have sustained gunshots in Migori county. One of them was shot in the thigh and the other in the leg. In HomaBay County, some protesters have been arrested by police officers while others barricaded the Homa Bay-Rongo road.
Transport services have also been paralyzed with minimal business activity witnessed in parts of the nation where the protests have been staged.
By early morning, counties that witnessed heavy protests last week were yet to join in the demonstrations with businesses closed. This is inclusive of Kisii, Nakuru, Meru, Kitengela and Kisumu.
Siaya town, on the other hand, escalated slowly and quietly. The streets have been barricaded by protesters who lit bonfires as they gathered to start the protests.
Protests in Nairobi began in Woodley, Kibera as youths engaged in running battles with the police over the protests. Police officers had been forced to retreat after the protesters started throwing stones at the police officers. Reinforcements were however deployed to the area to help in the maintenance of peace.
Other protesters in the Ganjoni area have been arrested by police officers after they barricaded roads and lit bonfires in the area. GSU officers have also been deployed in Bangladesh to calm the situation ongoing.
