Tesla CEO Elon Musk yesterday announced the launch of his Artificial Intelligence (AI) company named xAI. According to Musk, the company, which will be led by him will seek to create a ‘’maximally curious’’ AI.
The company’s website claims that the goal of xAI is to ‘’ understand the true nature of the universe.’’ The company’s staff includes Dan Hendrycks, presently the director of the Center for AI safety, former employees of OpenAI, Google, Microsoft and Tesla.
Musk was one of the founders of OpenAI in 2015 before leaving in 2018 citing conflict of interest which related to his work on AI at Tesla as the reason for his departure.

Musk had previously accused ChatGPT creator of giving biased and sexist responses. He faulted the company, OpenAI for inputting safeguards that prevent it from giving such responses.
He had in a past interview with Fox News disclosed his plans to venture into AI. ‘’we’re going to start something which I call TruthGPT,’’ he said. He further added that TruthGPT will be an AI that ‘’cares about understanding the universe.’’

He mentioned that he plans to collaborate closely with Twitter, Tesla and other companies in order to achieve xAI’s mission adding that he would share more information in a live Twitter spaces chat on Friday.
