WRC Safari Rally Drives Ksh24.7B Job Opportunities, According to Ruto

WRC Safari Rally was scheduled to take place from June 22 to June 25. President Ruto has shown interest in the event by creating job opportunities that will be worth Ksh24.7 billion.  

President Ruto has mentioned that the Government is investing in the WRC Safari Rally to offer employment opportunities countrywide. The Safari Rally is a great platform for this opportunity because it attracts more than 100,000 visitors.

People travel from far distances to attend the WRC Safari Rally and it is likely to create job opportunities that is worth Ksh24.7 billion. This year it has attracted 34 crews from 20 countries.

The event will not only offer job opportunities but it will also have a great effect to the tourism and hospitality industry. The President confirmed that the rally has given the country’s media publicity worth Ksh8 billion and a total economic value of Ksh63.3 billion.

“This will position Kenya as an iconic sporting nation, rallying powerhouse and tourism destination.”

The President said.

The president spoke on Wednesday when they were officially launching the event in Naivasha, Nakuru county. Governor Susan Kihika, Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba and KCB CEO Paul Ruso among other leaders were also present.

The president recognized the efforts made by the event organisers in the 19 million tree –planting Greening Legacy programme.

The event organisers were challenged to evolve the sport and ensure sustainability by encouraging talent development.

“We want to see a production line with talent like yesterday’s stars led by Joginder Singh, Peter Hughes, Nick Norwicki, Shekhar Mehta, Vic Preston Senior and Junior.”

President Ruto said.
