Julian Sands: British actor confirmed Dead

On Saturday, footsloggers found human remains in the Mount Baldy area which has now been confirmed to be those of Julian Sands.

Upon investigation, the remains have now been formally identified to match Julian Sands who went missing on a hike in January.

Sands disappeared on 13 January during bad weather in the Baldy Bowl area of the San Gabriel Mountains.

The Sheriff’s Department said the remains found in the Mount Baldy area at the weekend had been positively identified as the missing actor.

A weather report confirmed California was battered by deadly storms, as well as icy conditions and a threat of avalanches.

Chances are Sands died during the storms.”The manner of death is still under investigation, pending further test results.” the local Sheriff said.

In addition, Julian Sands was best known for his prowess in acting and award-winning Oscar films.

He won awards in A Room with A View and TV dramas 24 and Smallville.

Sands was also featured in ” The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” in 2011 when he appeared opposite Daniel Craig.

Family bids farewell

His family continues to mourn their loved one Julian Sands. Last week, they thanked the Californian authorities for their efforts to find him.

“We continue to hold Julian in our hearts with bright memories of him as a wonderful father, husband, explorer, lover of the natural world and the arts, and as an original and collaborative performer.” Julian’s family said.

Sands was previously married to Sarah Sands, former editor of BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, with whom he also had a son.
