Fans seem to be confused as to the amount of training they did for the film. The photos show Halle lifting weights with her head.

Halle Bailey stars in the Disney film as Ariel, a mermaid who has a spirit of adventure. In the two-hour film, Ariel falls in love with Prince Eric and makes a deal with an evil sea witch to experience life on land. The film was officially released on May 26 this year and is expected to premiere on August 30. Although there has been controversy regarding the casting, the film still continues to be a hit in cinemas since it was released.

Some fans explained that the training was probably needed for a specific scene in the film where Halle is seen to be fighting waves while rescuing Jonah.
She is training her neck. I am guessing to make the neck strong so she doesn’t get whiplash or aches during water scenes and acting out the mermaid swim which involved moving her neck a lot.
