Casemiro has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. He has won five Champions League trophies with Real Madrid not forgetting the Copa America title in 2019. He was also in the Brazilian squad that played at the 2018 and 2022 World Cup.
At Old Trafford, he has become a fan favourite because of his contributions to Eric ten Hag’s squad which had a poor start to the 2022/2023 season. Many believed a big paycheck was the reason for the move from a Champions League-winning side to underperforming giants. Since his signing in the summer of 2022 for a reported fee of £60 million, he has added balance and control attributes that were desperately needed at the time.

The 30-year-old has recently revealed that his name has been spelt wrongly for most of his career. In an interview on Football Focus, he said:” My name is Carlos Henrique Casimiro, with an i and not e.”
It all began when he played a game for Sao Paulo and the club misspelled his name on the jersey. As it would be, he displayed perfect footwork in the game. Casemiro has continued to flourish ever since Sao Paulo’s error and has played a key role in every club’s success he has been to ever since.
Being a superstitious person he did not a mistake. of changing the name. He said:
“Leave it like that, as things are going well.”
Well, superstitions are not for everyone but for Casemiro the error on his jersey is a good luck charm in his career.
