United Manager Erik Ten Hag continues with his impressive run, Old Trafford raised the roof on Wednesday night and his academy-promoted player snatched the lead with a superb curler from just inside the box.

The Red Devils faced a struggling West Ham side, two points off the relegation zone in 16th position in the Premier League. But West Ham saw the FA Cup fixture as the perfect opportunity to regain some confidence, especially after Said Benrahma’s curled effort found the back of the net in the 54th minute.

Ironically, David De Gea had just been awarded for breaking United’s club record of all-time goalkeeper with the most clean sheets (181), beating club legend Peter Schmeichel’s 180. He couldn’t do anything about Benrahma’s quality.

United made a couple of changes in the starting lineup with Dalot, Lindelof, Maguire, and Malacia at the back. McTomminay was in midfield alongside Sabitzer as some of the non-regulars as Casemiro, Varane, Rashford, and Lisandro Martinez starting from the bench.

Rashford and Casemiro were brought on after the Hammers took a deserved win. The latter had a goal disallowed after VAR intervened, offside the call.

13 minutes from fulltime, United found the equalizer through an own goal by West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd. In the 90th minute United forward Garnacho, who has earned himself a spot on Erik Ten Hag’s first team found the back of the net with a curler after Weghort’s blocked attempt fell kindly for him.

Fred then rounded off the scoring with a close-range goal deep in stoppage time. 3-1 United!

Spurs Humbled by Sheffield United

Iliman Ndiaye fired the blades to the quarter-finals, 11 minutes from full time, after a well-deserved win against Tottenham Hotspurs at Bramall Lane. There were no clear-cut chances in the first half; both teams equally matched. Lucas Moura’s cross clipped the top of the crossbar and that was just about the best chance for Spurs in the first half.

Sheffield’s 22-year-old Ismaila Coulibaly failed to convert, shooting wide of goal after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s misplaced header fell kindly for him.

The game seemed to be headed for extra time but Iliman Ndiaye brushed off a couple of challenges before beating Spurs goalkeeper Fraser Forster with a drilled low shot at the near post. Tottenham pressed but could not find an equalizer.
