He announced the news on Twitter after a fan asked if he would be pulling up after AKA’s funeral itinerary was announced.

According to the North West-born rapper, he will be in another country during these dates, so he won’t be able to attend the farewell ceremony for the late “Fela in Versace” hitmaker.

In a tweet, a Twitter user identified as the eyed_boy asked him, ‘@casspernyovest you pullin’ up at the memorial?’ to which he responded by saying he was fixated with work.

“Unfortunately I’ll be out of the country for work but if I was around I would’ve gone. I would’ve gone to the funeral too,” stated Cassper.

He then went on to defend his stance and maintained that he was a friend of AKA regardless of what netizens would think or focus on.

This is what the rest of Cassper’s tweet read, “No matter how you look at it, I and Kiernan shared a lot of great moments together and he contributed to my industry so I have to pay my respects.”

Cassper and AKA had a long history of clashing. However, their rivalry ended briefly in 2016, and to commemorate the occasion, they hugged in Johannesburg nightclub Taboo.

Cassper claims that even before the hug, they had sat down and worked out their differences, deciding to put the past behind them. The truce did not last long, and the two fell out again.

Meanwhile, South African police say evidence gathered so far leads them to believe the killing of popular rapper AKA was an assassination.

In a report released by AKA’s family, his memorial service will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre on Friday, 17 February 2023 at 3 PM.

While AKA’s memorial will be open to the public so that fans and friends can pay their respects, attendees will be charged an admission fee.

Yes, the Forbes family is charging mourners to see their son’s body, and tickets for the entrance fee are limited.

The rapper will then be laid to rest on Saturday, 18 February in a private ceremony.
