The agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi has assured tea farmers that the government is putting in place much effort to improve their earnings.
Speaking during a consultative meeting with the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) Board of Directors in Nairobi, CS Linturi said the ministry’s commitment is to work with them literally.
In the explanation, Linturi said the government is planning to improve productivity in the sector and have been rolled out among the outlined key measures including the provision of subsidised fertilisers to farmers, the establishment of orthodox tea lines, and value addition of common user facilities.

CS Mithika Linturi on the other hand also held another meeting with representatives from the Council of Governors (CoG) where he stated that the Ministry is encouraging partnerships to ensure every household is food secure.
