Raila Odinga Expected to Hold Political Rally at Kamukunji

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga is today December 7 expected to showcase his political rally at Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi.

In a statement, the Azimio la Umoja Coalition flag bearer said that the political gathering is to discuss the happenings of the State Affairs in the country and the way forward to the developmental progress.

Clarifying the security matters on Tuesday, the Inspector General-IG of the National Police Service-NPS said that they will fully provide security for Raila Odinga’s political rally.

Azimio’s kingpin says the two rallies will magnificently be the final declaration which will be announced in 30 days, hence President Ruto clocks his 100 days in office on December 22.

According to a statement signed by Noor Gabow the Deputy Inspector General, the National Police Service said “In respect of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 under Article 37 which provides that every person has the right to the Peaceful Gathering, Demonstration, and Picketing, the law further provides under Article 33 (3) of the Constitution that in exercising the Freedom of expression, every person shall respect the rights of Law”.

“In this regard, the NPS will provide security for the planned political rallies, and we call upon all public members in attendance to observe peace. However, any breach of the peace shall the dealt with in accordance with the law.” The NPS statement added.

The solid issues Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya is expected to put on the table include unfulfilled campaign promises, alleged disregard of Chapter Six of the Constitution, the high cost of living, the controversy surrounding the departure of four commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) from office.

Giving clarification in a statement, Raila Odinga said that the consultations are also about the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commissions-IEBC operational circle. We as Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya will, therefore, be gathering to discuss the general State of Affairs of our country Kenya.
