In the entire world, only 10% of the population is left-handed people. Being left-handed trickles down to so many factors, including genetics.

A study done in the US also concluded that a stressed mom who is pregnant was more likely to give birth to a left-handed baby.

There are stereotypes about left-handers, some of which may be true while others are just rumors.

  • They are more competitive.

In a world with only a few slots at the top, competition will get you there. Left-handed people are more competitive than right-handed people.

Even in a fistfight, chances are the right-hander will lose to the left one. So, don’t argue with a leftie, they are always right. Get it?

  • They are better at video games

Studies have proven that left-handed people have faster abilities to process things. So even in the virtual world, trust that they will probably win against a right-handed person, and no, it has nothing to do with them being competitive. Guess they are just that good.

  • Left is associated with superstitions

Remember when you were young and didn’t know how to shake hands properly so you always stretched out your left hand? Your mom used to exchange the hands. That is because left is associated with a lot of negative things.

Shaking hands with the left side is like placing a curse on yourself, when you are a terrible dancer, they say you have two left feet.

However, all these are just that, superstitions. They should not derail you just because left side is least appreciated. Even left- handed people can be your right-hand man.

At the end of the day, it does not mean that lefties are better than righties or vice versa. It really does not matter which hand you use as long as you get the job done. It’s not like they are going to ask you which hand you used to file the company’s reports.
