Fifa+ will provide live Augmented Reality overlay of stats, different camera angles, VAR replays as on TV, and more features.
The Fifa+ App provides fans attending matches in person with augmented reality features such as VAR replays and different camera angles. According to FIFA, only people attending matches in person will get the FIFA+ Stadium Experience.
As seen in the video making rounds on social media, users point their cameras at the pitch, after which an overlay pops up enabling the user to select a player and view live stats.

On Thursday, it appeared as though the ball left the field of play prior to Japan scoring the game-winning goal against Spain (as shown in the image below).
According to TheGuardian, the referee had initially disallowed the goal but fans using the AR technology must have understood the call.
“This is a significant moment, as we welcome the entire world to FIFA+ during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar,” says FIFA Director, Strategy, Digital and FIFA+, Charlotte Burr. “FIFA+ is set to truly change the game by providing a new blueprint for how fans enjoy their World Cup on FIFA’s channels for years to come.”
