ODM leader Raila Odinga’s sentiments concerning an increase in crime and instability in Kenya, particularly Nairobi, have been reiterated by Nairobi county governor, Sakaja.
Nairobi governor agreed that this is the scenario and that it is true that criminals are wreaking havoc in the city.

Sakaja who already spoke with Japhet Koome, the new inspector general of police, in order to ask for his assistance in finding solutions to the surging insecurity.
The county chief says they will meet soon and that the main topic will be how to restore security in the country’s capital.
“Just spoken to the Inspector General of police. We have agreed to meet and share solutions and tasks in restoring order and security. It’s our shared responsibility. We will support our officers as they protect our people,” he said in an interview.

This comes a day after Raila warned that things are out of control and that criminal activity in Nairobi is now occurring in broad daylight.
He blamed President William Ruto and his government for the same, citing attacks on police officers and the withdrawal of cases filed against prominent people, particularly those close to Ruto.

“A general sense of lawlessness is taking shape. Our security appears to have deteriorated overnight, with widespread incidents of daylight crimes, making families lose their loved ones to thugs in broad daylight, particularly in Nairobi,” the former Prime Minister said in a statement.
