Accord University holds Third Symposium on Future of E-learning

Accord University held the third Symposium on November 12, focusing on the Future of E-learning, “Changing the Course of E-Learning“, at the Van der Valk Hotel Hilversum, in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The symposium proceeded from the ISIC IT Bootcamp held in Amsterdam as well as the first and Second Accord symposiums held in Nairobi, Kenya.

The third symposium’s focus was drawn toward changing the course of E-learning while keeping the focus on the future. The symposium was led by Prof. Florence Norris & Prof. Abdulkadir B. Mohamed.

Prof. Abdulkadir B. Mohamed spoke briefly on the importance of e-learning in achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 and contrasted the Dutch education system as a good example to be followed.

While Prof. Florence Norris shared topics ranging from history to the future of e-learning.

The 2nd Accord University symposium held on September 22, at KICC, Nairobi, focused on ‘Use of E-learning as a source of learning.

The university is looking forward to working with organizations that support Education, as they are key in the elaborate connection with various United Nations organizations, to support their online infrastructure, enabling effectiveness for E-learning.

The University strives to create a culture of equality and an environment of teaching, study, and research, free of bias and discrimination,

Accord focuses on quality higher education, dissemination of knowledge and fostering relationships with outside individuals, both local and international educational institutions, to ensure online learners have the necessary tools and resources required to excel.

During the last symposium held in Kenya, Accord University lecturer Dr. Martin Okode noted that M-learning is the way forward into the future of learning online, describing it as the next frontier in the e-learning process, as the mobile has become a major tool defining operations in various sectors of the economy including Education.

“Smartphones are to be tailored toward achieving a successful e-learning space.” Dr. Okode noted.

Prof. Abdulkadir elaborated that online questions are designed to enable the students to apply critical thinking as a way of innovation and have logical reasoning, his statement answered a question raised on how to cope with cheating to ensure credible results from the students.

“Questions in Accord e-learning program is designed to help students think critically rather than memorize, so copying of answers is not a threat towards this form of education,” he observed.

Some International students from remote parts of the world can access the e-learning education services through Accord’s elevated e-learning systems, while in remote parts of the globe.

At the event’s conclusion, participants, organizers, and university leadership exchanged awards and gifts, and Prof. Abdulkadir B. Mohamed thanked the attendees, organizers, and sponsors for their warm welcome and support.
