Main Suspect in Killing of Ida Odinga’s Bodyguard Detained for 14 days

Court order from Kisumu Court has ordered the detention of Oulo Okundi, the prime suspect in the killing of Ida Odinga’s bodyguard for 14 days for investigations to go on.

In a ruling delivered on Monday, October 17, Senior Resident Magistrate Stella Telewa directed that the suspect be remanded at Kisumu Central Police Station.

The suspect will be produced to court on October 31, to take his plea.

The prime suspect who was on escape since October 14, was arrested in Eldoret.

Uasin Gishu Police OCS Ayub Gitonga said the suspect surrendered at an Eldoret police station on Sunday, October 16, before being placed in lawful custody.

Gitonga said the suspect, a manager of Club Signature Level 4 in Kisumu, will be prosecuted on Monday, October 17, ready to answer murder charges.

In the shooting altercation, Oduor, alias Jaraha, had left Dondez Bar & Restaurant accompanied by Donar Kajwang and a lady identified as Marion.

On arriving at Victoria Gardens Estate, a man identified as Collins Okundi, a manager of Club Signature Kisumu, suddenly appeared, and an argument came up.

In the process, Okundi disarmed Oduor and fatally shot him twice in the head and leg. On the other hand, Kajwang was shot in the leg and was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu, where he is nursing injuries.
